The Maharees
The Maheeres area extends Northwards from the Dingle peninsula, consisting of many sand dunes and beaches interspersed with farms, hamlets, caravan and camping grounds and a watersports centre.
The two largest stretches of beach are West-facing and referred to by locals as the ‘front beach’, with the ‘back beach’ being East-facing. There are public toilets on the ‘back beach’ that are subject to opening times. The area is well-served with Bed & Breakfast accommodation, a convenience shop and pubs. The village of Castlegregory located at the entrance to the Maherees. provides more amenities.
